In today’s high risk internet security world, proper measures must be taken to make sure information secure. At Kirbside Enterprises, we maintain plenty of information about our customers. This allows us to run efficiently with out continually bugging you. This includes many things like admin passwords, billing information etc. In light of today’s security risk, we’re upgrading security in our network. Kirbside has purchased YubiKeys for its personnel which will allow us to secure our network using small, USB based hardware tokens. This makes sure that your data is secure, even if a password is linked.

To secure your business, check out YubiKey and ROHOS LogonKey for securing your network and workstations!

Kirbside’s job has always been to help you get customers. But, what if you need to keep your customers? For example, you offer a subscription service. That’s when it actually gets difficult. You see, getting the customer is just half the battle. Keeping them relies on a steady balance of performance and customer service. When we have subscription customers, we stay up all hours of the night making sure they get what they expect. With that said, you don’t have to! A little bit of customer service goes a long way. Checkout these 3 free tips from an expert:

The customer is not always right

You’ve heard it, I’ve heard it: “Remember, the customer is always right.” This used to be the case. But things have changed, people! A customer is using your service because they cannot do it themselves. They don’t know how to do what your providing. They don’t have the expertise you do. Never be afraid to respectfully correct them if you absolutely know you’re right, and they’re wrong.

Always respect the customer

When you have to serve others, you WILL get frustrated. Customers might be frustrated in the first place because something is wrong in the first place. They’ll pass that frustration on to you. And sometimes, you’ll just wanna chew their head off. The key is to do something silently on your end of the line to cool yourself off. Try squeezing a stress ball or looking at a picture of your family. Just remind yourself why you are doing this hard work.

Always be “available”

I’m not asking you to be awake every second of every day. I’m asking you to be available to the customer. You can do this even when you’re sleeping or on vacation. If you’re on vacation, use a vacation reply in your email (easy with Office 365!), and set your Voicemail to say you’re on vacation. And, ALWAYS give them another contact to call. Example vacation reply:

Thanks for your message! I am currently out on vacation and will return DATEOFRETURN. I will respond to email when possible. If you need to get in touch right away, please call or email Suchandsuch (suchandsuch@company.com/303-123-4567).

As for those late nights I was talking about earlier, forget it! Make your hours easily available. Tell your customers that you’re available from 9am to 9pm (or whatever you want), and they usually will only call you then. And for emergencies, they’ll leave you a message. (I’ve tested this and it works, I have yet to get a call after 1030PM, which is when I’m off for the night)

Hope these tips help you stay successful! Happy ventures!
